A.P.A.E - Air Cargo Challenge FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)
Category: Main ->
| Answer | · Are you open to a commercial partnership? Of what kind?As you should know, is not easy for the participants to come up with all that money to provide all tools and materials needed to build an acceptable aircraft, or even to finance travel expenses. Even though it is not our job to provide this, we want that the participant teams get the most of our help. In this competition, it is mandatory to have the same propulsion among all participants. This is defined by us, the organization. If you are an engine manufacturer or representative, and if you want that competitors use your product, feel free to contact us with a proposal. You would be expending a very small amount in gender, and would get a high return by supporting the continuity of this kind of events.
But this is just an example; there are many other ways how you can support this event and the competitors directly. If you feel your company as the right profile, contact us.

| | · Is it possible for other universities, student's associations or professors, to be able to take a part in the Air Cargo Challenge structure? Bearing in mind the success of previous editions, the APAE proposes to broaden and spread the third edition to Europe. As we are a member of EUROAVIA (European Association of Aerospace Students) we make part, since the establishment of APAE itself, of an european nation and we have a legacy from the past regarding the experience in organising and participating in european events.
This can only be a truly european project if we provide an open structure to absorb the higly motivated and interested persons. The structure of the Air Cargo Challenge was rewriten in order to allow specialists from other universities and students to collaborate with us in the promotion of the event. A change in the flight competition that will move it to other countries in future editions, turning this APAE project into a truly European one, can also be a reality. Therefore, we divided the Air Cargo Challenge in independent committees, each one with limited responsabilities and open to receive whoever wants to join the event:
General Management Committee : constituted only by members of the APAE, it promotes the contest. It is managed by a Director and its assistants.
Organising Committee : responsible for organising the event (5 days). As the edition of the Air Cargo Challenge 2007 is going to take place in Lisbon the organisation involves elements of the APAE. Nevertheless, we hope to receive curious people who want to learn more about this event, so that in the future they could also receive the event in other countries.
Scientific Committee: constituted by university professors in the aeronautics field. It is responsible for the evaluation of the projects’ reports. It can also cooperate with us in the regulations, what will turn this event into a more interesting one from the engineering and science perspectives.
Technical Committee: open to all kinds of people interested in the aeronautics field, it’s responsible for the creation of the regulations and it has to assure that all these rules are accomplished during the Air Cargo Challenge. It has to check if the projects respect all the rules and to assure that all the flying competition occurs according to the previous established procedures and rules. [ Back to Top ]
